Lagos-Ibadan Expressway
Mr Clement Oladele, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Ogun State, has assured motorists plying the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway of free flow of traffic in spite of the ongoing repairs in the axis.
Oladele in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abeokuta on Saturday urged motorists not to entertain any fears of plying the route.
The FRSC had on Thursday issued a statement informing motorists that Julius Berger Nig. Plc will temporarily close the section of the Ibadan-Lagos corridor by Sagamu Interchange for repairs from Nov. 3 to Nov. 12.
The sector commander said the FRSC had been on the ground to ensure free flow of traffic since the repair work started, adding that motorists should not be scared of plying the road because of the repairs.“We are still on the ground and traffic has been moving freely.
“However, it was a bit high on Friday night and Saturday morning, especially around Mowe axis due to the Holy Ghost service organised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
“Asides the pockets of break down of vehicles which we promptly removed, officers of the FRSC have been on their toes to ensure free flow of traffic and safety on the roads,’’ Oladele assured.
He urged motorists to cooperate with the FRSC, exercise caution, and adhere to traffic rules throughout the period of the repairs.
